Job Description:Job Description Financial Debt Recovery Ltd. is experiencing growth in Canada and the US, and we are now seeking a Cost Accountant with hands on experience to support our accounting team. We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to join our team as a Cost Accountant. As a Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for analyzing costs, preparing budget reports, implementing cost control measures, and providing financial insights to support business decisions.In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data, identify cost drivers, and develop strategies to optimize costs and improve profitability. You will also be responsible for monitoring inventory, conducting variance analysis, and providing recommendations for process improvements.Ultimately, you should build updated databases and manage cost information to maximize profitability for our company. Job Type: Full Time, Permanent, On site (No remote work)Job Location: 40 West Wilmot Street, Richmond Hill, Ontario L4B 1H8Hours: 40Competitive salary and health benefits.Required Hours at our Richmond Hill Office:Monday to Friday 8:30 am – 5pm Responsibilities · Collect cost information and maintain an expenses database· Construct data accumulation systems· Determine fixed costs (e.g. salaries, rent and insurance)· Plan and record variable costs (e.g. purchases of raw material and operations costs)· Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies· Prepare budgeting reports (for the company and for each department)· Analyze and report profit margins· Prepare (monthly, quarterly and annual) cost forecasts· Assisting in month-end and year-end closing· Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions· Analyze costs and prepare budget reports to support business decision-making· Implement cost control measures and monitor their effectiveness· Conduct regular audits to ensure accurate cost allocation and adherence to accounting standards· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data for cost analysis· Identify cost drivers and develop strategies to optimize costs and improve profitability· Monitor inventory levels and reconcile discrepancies· Conduct variance analysis and provide recommendations for cost savings and process improvements Requirements and SkillsExperience with accounting software, like QuickBooks, Sage 300Computer literacy, MS Excel in particular (familiarity with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables), MS Office SuiteProven work experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, Accountant, or similar roleMinimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting or a similar roleStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsDetail-oriented with excellent numerical accuracyKnowledge of accounting principles and standardsAbility to work independently and meet deadlinesThorough knowledge of accounting proceduresStrong time management skillsIntegrity, with an ability to handle confidential informationBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldExcellent analytical skills with an attention to detailIn-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and ASPEBenefitsCompetitive salary and benefits package (Health, Life, Dental Insurance)Collaborative and supportive work environmentOngoing training and career advancement opportunitiesStaff BBQ and company eventsFree on-site parkingOpportunities for career growth and advancement NOTE: The Financial Debt Recovery is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion within the workplace.
