Description

Due to a no show, one still available. When it sells I'll take the ad down. Don't ask if it's available, as you will be ignored.

Grey cockatiel chick. Weaned on fresh veggies, quality bird pellets, and high quality seed. I have reduced the price to $75 per bird as they have been on their own for a while now in their own cage and will require some extra time and patience to get them used to being handled again. That being said, they are very young with no bad experiences liking getting poked at at a pet store, so they generally become used to being handled quite quickly. They were handled extensively from the time they hatched and they are very clever little things with good memories. As previously mentioned, they have been caged with a bunch of other young weaned birds, but once they are away from their bird buddies, their human becomes their flock and they should settle in quite quickly.

I would ask that you have a proper sized cage before you consider a bird this size. I always recommend getting a single bird, at least initially, as it will accelerate the bonding between you and your bird. If you want two, they both must be worked with individually and ideally housed separate in two difference cages. Another bird is much preferred to a human and two birds will prefer each other's company over a human. Additionally, I would not recommended these birds as pets for young children (under 12). As with all young things (birds, puppies, kittens, kids LOL), baby birds do bite on occasion and owners must be prepared for these rare occasions. They also taste with their tongues to identify things that can lead an inexperienced bird owner to think that the bird is going to bite as it's beaks is open as it approaches.

The sex of this bird cannot be determined at this time. Babies get their adult feathers after their first molt which is usually around 6 months of age. As a practice, I have my birds DNA sexed, but due to some life challenges, my breeding problem protocol fell a bit behind.

Thank you for your interest and I apologize to any of you who have contacted me on the previous ad and not received a response. I wanted to update this add in order to properly respond to those who are interested.
