This was a prototype by Outland in the early 00's (if not earlier) for Santa Cruz bikes.
Good for xs, small 27.5 mountain bikes and some medium frames, smaller road bikes, kids’ bikes, etc. Not good for 29ers. But a mullet might be worth a try.
This box has been all over Canada and the States and I’ve never had any damage from transport, although sometimes I take the rotors off if I'm not being lazy.
There are 4 ratchet straps (think snowboard bindings) on the sides to sandwich the top and bottom together. Once the sandwich is assembled, grab the top handle to engage the wheels and away you go.
If you were a hard goods designer, you’d make a lot of new prototypes to dial it in, but hey, it’s only 100 bucks. Bike boxes and bags have come a long way since 2000.
The only reason I'm selling it is that the geometry of the new bike is too slack and the frame doesn't quite fit.
Dimensions:
46” long, 30.5” wide, 8” deep (variable).
