Groove and Flow Hip-Hop Intensive

Join Fit and Dance Dimensions for an intensive and exciting Hip-Hop dance workshop designed to elevate your skills and style on the dance floor. Led by Charles Maina, an accomplished dancer with over 20 years’ experience teaching and competing in Hip-Hop, this immersive experience will develop your groove, flow, and technique through a series of dynamic exercises.

Session 1 (09:00-10:00): Fundamentals of Groove Part 1 Warm-Up: Get your body moving and ready for action with a high-energy warm-up session focusing on stretching, conditioning, and body isolations. Groove Techniques: Learn essential Hip-Hop groove techniques including popping, locking, and waving. Explore different textures and dynamics to add depth to your movements. Drill Sessions: Practice your newfound grooves in challenging drills designed to improve your coordination, rhythm, and musicality.

Session 2 (10:10-11:10): Fundamentals of Groove Part 2 Party Rocking: Dive into dynamic Hip-Hop moves that incorporate the grooves and techniques covered in Part 1. Break down the moves step-by-step, focusing on musicality, timing, and performance quality. Freestyle Session: Put your own spin on the moves we’ve learned as you explore freestyle movement and improvisation. Experiment with creativity and expression in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Session 3 (11:20-12:20): Flow and Transition Flow Exercises: Refine your flow and transitions between movements through a series of engaging exercises. Learn to seamlessly connect different elements of your moves for polished and fluid performance. Musicality and Dynamics: Dive deeper into musicality and dynamics, exploring how to interpret and express different rhythms, accents, and emotions through movement.

Session 4 (12:30-13:30): Freestyle Showcase and Feedback Freestyle Session: Put everything you’ve learned into practice with a freestyle session where you can showcase your skills and creativity. Dance to a variety of music styles and tempos, experimenting with different movement styles and personal expression.
