Rendan Fabricators Ltd., a part of the AGF Group, is looking for an experienced and reliable worker for the position of Bender Operator at its rebar fabrication facility located in the Burnside Industrial Park in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The position is permanent and full-time.
The duties of the Bender Operator position are as follows:
• Read specifications or follow verbal instructions
• Lay out, set up and operate semi-automatic and manual machines, cutting and bending rebar
• Check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications
• Troubleshoot and perform corrective action or minor repairs
• Select and transport material to work area manually or using crane or hoist
• Document work completed
• Build staging or erect scaffolding as required for heavy metalworking jobs
• Clean or lubricate equipment and replace parts as required
• Assist machine operators, assemblers, and other workers
• Lifting loads of up to 50 lbs.
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements: at least 5 years of experience a machine operator in a manufacturing environment operating an overhead crane, and operating a Bender Operator; crane and forklift license or eligibility for license an asset; good communication skills; ability to utilize independent judgment in the daily performance of job duties; reliable; able to lift up to 50 lobs.
Minimum education: High school diploma
Terms of employment: Permanent, full-time (45 hours/week)
Compensation: $22/hour
