Things you should know about buying or adopting a pet

While pet sellers can be reputable individuals or breeders who treat their animals well, the ease of selling pets over the Internet also makes it attractive to careless, irresponsible breeders and scammers. To protect yourself, you must be careful and believe only what you see and not what you are told. It is highly recommended to arrange for an inspection of the home where the pets are bred. This allows you to check that the mother and other animals are living in suitable conditions, being well cared for, and are in good health.

Remember that the Kijiji Pets section is NOT intended to facilitate uncontrolled breeding, irresponsible commercial pet trading, trade of dogs or any other animal for the purpose of fighting or stud services. Any ads that are suspected of promoting this kind of activity or reported to us will be removed. Users are responsible for adhering to the applicable conditions in relation to adopting, buying, selling or listing of an ad on Kijiji.

Kijiji encourages, where possible, the adoption of pets and encourages all pet owners to have their animals spayed or neutered as well as microchipped.

When looking for a pet, it is important to meet the breeder or seller and examine the pet before agreeing to anything. Since Kijiji is local to your community, this should be easy to arrange. Never adopt/buy a pet from someone who is unwilling to let you see how and where the animal is living!

Kijiji Pet Welfare Partners:

Description

We have one puppy-girl still with us who is going to Burnaby, BC mid-May. Do not hesitate to ask us about delivery possibilities, we will find a solution.

Hello Berner lovers! We have one charming and sweet puppy-boy waiting for his new loving home. It’s not because the other puppies were better. Not at all! Every puppy has its own personality that matches it’s new owners. Both parents are Canadian Kennel Club registered and OFA health tested, with European bloodline. Your puppy is ready to go home with: - CKC registration papers and microchipped, - Health Certificate from a veterinarian, up-to-date vaccines and deworming, - Free Trupanion “Go Home 30 Days” Healthcare Insurance (covers Vet bills due to sudden illness, trauma, etc. during the first month from the moment you have the puppy). - Puppy food sample bag and a toy.

This beautiful boy is sold as a family pet. The price is reduced from $2300 to $2000; non-refundable deposit is required in order to reserve him. Call (780-523-0867) and tell us a little bit about yourself, and what are you looking for in a puppy. We will be happy to connect with you! Inquires made on Saturday will be answered the very next day. Maybe this pup is the right one just for you! Some videos: https://youtu.be/l5_cvpBCbUo

Here are some of the most common questions that we have received about the ad in the last month: Q: Are puppies still available? A: Yes, we have ONLY ONE puppy left; while the ad is up, the puppy is still available!

Q: What are the puppy’s characteristics? A: Gray boy is the calmest boy of the litter. He has beautiful markings and eyebrows, is quiet, loving and very patient; loves to play and is not afraid to explore new things. He is our teddy bear - a big boy with a gentle heart! We started to train him simple commands and he responds very well. Ideal for a family with children, but will be a good pet for a single person as well. Bernese Mountain dogs love their people; you will be his everything for him as long as he lives!

Q: How do I know that your puppy is purebred? A: Yes, there are lots of ads misrepresenting puppies as purebred. ONLY registered (by Canadian Kennel Club or other clubs) puppies are purebred. In order to have a purebred puppy both parents must be registered. It is good that the parents have been DNA and health tested, but it does not qualify them and puppies as purebred.

Q: How can I see the puppy? A: Photos cannot express the character of the puppy. That is why we make videos of the pups; invite you to our place or to make a video call. When we had people visiting us either in person or via a video call, they were able to connect with a puppy and make the right choice.

Q: Can I see more pictures and videos? A: Yes, please visit us on FB Bernese4Life page and on YouTube Bernese4 Life channel.

Q: Where are you located? A: We live on the farm near beautiful Rocky Mountains not far away from Chetwynd and Dawson Creek, BC.

Q: Do you ship puppies via airplane? A: No, we don’t. We believe it is a very stressful and traumatizing experience for a puppy at such a young age to be shipped by airplane or bus by itself.

Q: Are there any delivery options for a farther destination? A: Yes! We deliver puppies for free around our area. We have made a trip to Edmonton, AB and Squamish, BC already earlier this month. We have one puppy-girl still with us who is going to Burnaby, BC mid-May. Do not hesitate to ask us about delivery possibilities, we will find a solution.

Q. What is the price? A: The price has been reduced from $2300 to $2000

Q: Does the puppy come with breeding rights? A: No, all puppies are sold with CKC non-breeding contract.

Q: Is your pappy crate and potty trained? A: Yes, all our puppies have been on crate and potty training since they were 4 week old.

Q: How big are the parents? A: Both parents are less than 100lb.
