I am a; mature, reliable trainer/educator specializing working with younger & mature owners/western or dressage horses of all abilities! Thirty-eight years + of proven experience confirms that using NON harsh and cruel training methods but educating with understanding, patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement that mostly every horse can be great if given a chance. There is no need for excessive, hard working, training sessions because horses provide correct responses much quicker and more willingly when they are not forced/rushed to learn. Instead of horses coming to me for training, I will come to your place, ideally transforming a stressful situation for both horse and owner into a familiar and comfortable one that allows your horses training to be a team process, in which the owner is included.
I notice too many horses being ridden and/or sold with vices, bad habits, holes, lack of or no proper training. Owner have the best intentions in the world, love their horses unconditionally and most have time to dedicate to working with their horse[s] but seem to lack the knowledge, confidence and experience to educate and work successfully with them. Likely they have a goal but without proper horse specific training plans it is just a dream! They appear to be stuck as to where the horse is, what to do next and/or to what level the horse is trained! Most are trying to teach the horse intermediate and advanced drills/exercises when they have not properly covered the basics therefore the horse does not or is not properly prepared to understand.
Therefore; although they mean well the chances of being successful under those circumstances are extremely remote and very confusing to the horse.
