7yr old Project

Lightly started/green broke 7 yr old sorrel paint, he is still a stud hasn’t been gelded yet and we don’t plan on gelding him while he’s here. Hes had a hand full of rides sporadically over the last two years, we bought him off a reservation and started riding him, he’s pretty quiet has always been the same no matter how long we’ve let him sit. His only down fall is that he can be pretty lazy(this may be able to be worked through not sure if it’s just him unsure about carrying weight or what but he’s been this way for the two years we’ve owned him), we run barrels and other time events so he just isn’t suited for what we do, would probably do best as a trail horse with some more work, we haven’t had any issues with him spooking(if he does it’s just a little jump) i wouldn’t say he’s a kids horse so don’t ask but I do think a confident kid could work with him with some experience just no beginners as he’s still unpredictable. Hes overall a pretty good horse. Can be difficult to catch, usually is better with more consistent work and is usually good with his feet, have had issues with him just not wanting to pick them up but he usually gives in pretty quick He may also do good as a ranch horse, especially if you can get him a little more pep in his step. Probably in that 14-15hh mark, I’ve never measured just basing it off the heights of our other horses, he’s pretty stout and stocky just needs to build some more muscle.
