Hi, I'm Lori, a passionate and experienced guitar instructor dedicated to helping students of ALL ages and skill levels discover the beauty of music. I received my Teachers degree in Classical Guitar Performance from the Royal Superior Conservatory of Seville in Andalucia, Spain. My formal studies in guitar performance also include The University of Santa Barbara, California, the University of Calgary, and the Banff Center of Fine Arts. With my background in guitar performance and education, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my instruction. For almost 20 years as a teacher in the Spanish Andalusian Conservatories, I had the privilege of performing and teaching not only Classical and Flamenco guitar but also solfege, theory, chamber music, and choir. During this time, I inspired a great number of students to become performers and professional guitar teachers. My students consistently continue to achieve remarkable results, with many of them being awarded RCM Gold Medals and attaining the highest grades in their Royal Conservatory of Music exams. I take pride in nurturing and guiding each student's musical journey, helping them develop technical proficiency, expressiveness, and a deep understanding of the art of guitar playing. My principal teachers have been Paul Century, Michael Lorimer, Mario Escudero, Serafin Arriaza, and Manuel Cera. Additionally, I have had the privilege of studying and performing in extensive masterclasses with renowned guitarists such as Abel Carlevaro, Leo Brouwer, Jose Tomas, and Alirio Diaz.
