Position: One (1) Middle School Teacher and Choir Teacher

Teacher Duties:

Prepare courses for presentation to students according to approved curriculum. Leads students to expand their understanding of God and others through various repertories and to develop creative communication methods. Participate in extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs, and student organizations. Be up to date with developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities. Assign and correct homework. Prepare, administer, and correct tests. Maintains classroom management by applying disciplinary measures when necessary. Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops. Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies and school regulations. Perform certain pastoral duties including but not limited to student support, assisting students with academic problems, and providing student. encouragement.

Choir Duties:

Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment Teach students using a systematic plan of lessons, discussions, audio-visual presentations and field trips Focuses on teaching posture, diaphragmatic breathing, music reading, including pitch and rhythm, critical music vocabulary and symbols, expression terms, tempo, and various vocal techniques. Conducts choral practices and performances and teaches students to demonstrate their proficiency in singing in their group and listening to others, as well as performance decorum Evaluate the progress of students and discuss results with students, parents and school officials Participate in department and school meetings, parent meetings Keep and maintain attendance records, and follow up with principal and guardians, as needed. Maintains classroom management by applying disciplinary measures when necessary.

Education requirements: Bachelors of Education degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent Proficiency in one of Canada's official languages – English or French Teaching Certificate with BC Teachers Regulation Branch

Experience: Teachers with at least 5 years of experience is preferred but not a requirement. Fluency in English
