Baby chick educational experience

Hampton silkies is offering 2 different educational experiences: 1. Rent a chick program!

Do you want to experience the excitement of baby chicks without the long term commitments? Then this program is for you! You will receive: - 2/3 purebred silkie chicks - 1 brooder to safely house the chicks - 1 heat source for chicks - 1 feeder - 1 waterer - Food - Wood shavings - Basic information booklet - Unlimited advice

Pick up and drop off location is in Hampton

Typical duration for the program is 2 weeks with a fee of $60.

*Please note that chicks can be returned earlier if necessary or kept longer if agreed upon **There is an option to keep any/all chicks at the end of the rental but the brooder, heat source, feeder, waterer MUST be returned & you will require a larger enclosure to house the chicks ***A $25 security deposit is required upon drop off/pick up and will be returned when everything is returned if it has been maintained. Security deposit can also be used to secure your requested date

2. hatch your own chicks!

Have you always wanted to experience the excitement of hatching chicks but don't know where to start? Want a fun experience for your family/ school/ child care/ care home? Then this is program for you!

The program:

- [ ] You will receive 7 fertile purebred silkie eggs to hatch! You will raise these chicks for up to 7 days and will then have the option to return or keep any/all of the chicks. * We recommend keeping the chicks for up to one week as after this is when they begin to make more of a mess/ smell. * If you choose to keep any chicks (for an additional fee) please note silkie chicks cannot be sexed with 100% accuracy until older.

What you get:

* 7 fertile silkie eggs * 1 x 7 egg incubator * 1 heat source for hatched chicks * 1 secure brooder to safely house hatched chicks * 1 waterer * 1 food bowl * 1 bag of pine shavings * 1 bag of chick feed * Information booklet detailing how to use incubator & what to do during each stage of hatching. * Unlimited advice and support via text or email if required * Pick up drop off is located in Hampton (10 mins north of Bowmanville). Delivery can also be arranged for an additional fee.

However fertility does not guarantee hatching. Due to many outside factors we cannot guararntee hatching rate and no refunds will provided.
