    Description

NAME: Rex AGE: 3 years (approx) GENDER: Male (neutered) WEIGHT: 25kg BREED: Siberian Husky LOCATION: Bowmanville Ontario, Toronto (in foster) RESCUE STORY: He was adopted from a city shelter to save him from euthanasia from a city shelter in Jeju Island. But he tied Rex to his field in a short line to prevent wild animals from damaging his crops. A volunteer came across him and visited him regularly. Rex was attacked several times by wild animals and he was rescued again and sent to a foster in Canada. PERSONALITY Rex was tied up and left alone for months, but he didn't lose his bright and happy personality. He’s so gentle and smart - he understands commands well and loves people and dogs. Rex will make an amazing companion for an adopter with a good understanding of huskies and an active lifestyle. He is an absolute darling who will give endless love and loyalty and enrich the lives of his lucky furever family. BEHAVIOR & TRAINING DOGS: Good with all dogs on walks. In a home, he's great but his human needs to control interactions when high value treats like bones are given. CATS: Not good. Rex was adopted not long ago, but the adopter introduced Rex and her cat too quickly and he attacked the cat. For a while, he was separated from the cat and wasn't interested in it after that. The adopter found the situation unmanageable and Rex was returned to his former foster. When Rex was tied up outside he was attacked by animals, these were most likely weasels, rats, martens etc so he, understandably, may be triggered by small critters. KIDS: Fine with older children but not comfortable with kids under the age of two. Housebroken: Yes. He initially pee indoors at his first foster home (it was his first ever home after rescue). We believe this was a lack of experience with living indoors as well as marking as other dogs were in the home. The behavior was fixed quickly. He may regress a little when he's adopted but we are confident this will only be a short term issue. KENNEL: OK LEASH: Very good BARKING: Rare SEPARATION ANXIETY: No BEHAVIORAL ISSUES(food aggression, leash reactivity, etc): None but if living with another dog, careful distribution of snacks or bones will be important to establish good habits. As with most huskies, if he is not given enough exercise and mental stimulation, he may scratch or chew furniture. Again, his time spent in a real home is still relatively limited so we strongly believe that he just needs time and the right people to help him learn to be his best self. #adoptdontshop #adoptme #rescuedogs #rescuedogsofinsta #rescuedogsofinstagram #rescuedogsrock #rescuedogsrule #doglover #dog #cutedog #cutedogs #cutedogsofinstagram #dogsofinstagram #dogstagram #adoptadogsavealife #siberianhusky #husky #huskiesofinstagram
