COLLABORATION DESCRIPTION

The Managing Editor may reside anywhere in the Canada area, but we are located in Montreal. Our office is also accessible if needed. This is a work-from-home position. The Managing Editor must attend all meetings, which are held online or in person if needed. ----------------- Le rédacteur en chef peut résider n'importe où dans la région du Canada, mais nous sommes situés à Montréal. Typical responsibilities of the job include:

- Knowledge of research administration issues and current topics. Ability to manage production of a publication with a number of topics, with varying levels of seriousness. Ability to prioritize information for publication.

- Function of Position - The Co-Editors of the Magazine are responsible for the overall content and production of the Magazine, including determining the contents of each issue, assigning articles to authors, overseeing deadlines for article submission, writing and editing, supervising layout, design and publication.

- Selecting articles for issues and planning publication contents - Generating ideas for articles and features - Organising meetings with writers and designers to discuss and plan the features - section of the magazine - Commissioning features and stories from in-house writers or freelancers - Supervising staff, including freelance writers, and setting deadlines - Reading, writing and researching features and articles -Rewriting, editing, proofreading and subbing copy to ensure it is ready to go to press - Attending relevant events, fairs and conferences - Ensuring that all feature articles comply with ethical codes of practice and legal guidelines. - writing annd editing skills.
