For mushroom enthusiasts it is the perfect time to scout for the upcoming season. Knowing your tree species is absolutely the first step to learning because many varieties of wild mushrooms are associated with some certain trees. Many also have a mycorrhizal connection with specific trees. This is referred to as a symbiotic relationship. After many suggestions and requests, we have decided to host a couple of workshops along the trail! They will focus on tree identification and the mushrooms often associated with them. If you have had trouble finding certain mushrooms like the elusive, up and coming Morels, then this is for you! Also keep your eyes open for wildlife and the hidden gems we often encounter.
