SkillBuild is offered at no cost to particpants and offers 15 weeks of hands on occupational training in real construction workshops, earn your safety tickets and gain the experience you need to be guarenteed the job you want. This is a 15 week employment training opportunity that gives you hands on training and work experience as well as job placement at the end of your 15 weeks.
Exposure to:
- Carpentry
- Millwright
- Electrical
- Pipefitting
- Welding
- Scaffolding
And get Safety tickets in:
- First Aid
- Lift Truck
- Fall Protection
- Confined Space Entry and Attending Worker
- Basic Rigging
- Fire Watch
- Hazard Assessment
To be Eligible to Participate, you must be:
- 18 years of age or older
- Unemployed or Underemployed
- A resident of Alberta
- A Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Convention Refugee and legally entitled to work in Canada
- EI Eligible (some non-EI eligible seats are available)
- Ready, Willing and Able to participate in a full-time training program and be able to work at a minimum of 30 hours per week
